Zing and I leave to teach in Bogota, Columbia on Thursday! It'll be my first international seminar and I'm beyond excited. Zing's a little confused about the whirlwind of frantic packing and cleaning. I bought the 5th season of Burn Notice, downloaded an audiobook, and am going to get The Hunger Games Trilogy or The Game of Thrones 1-4 (suggestions?). An awesome friend also gave me Split Infinity. I've already started it and will probably finish it at the airport Thursday morning. (I have to get there 3 hours early to check Zing.) It's not a terribly long flight, but I like variety.
I had no idea that there was so much involved in taking Zing out of the country. After visiting two vets, I finally found one who could help me get him an International Health Certificate. The first vet assured me on the phone that they could issue it. After driving all the way there, they didn't have a clue how to do it and told me to come back the next day. I only had to spend an afternoon getting shots at the health department. That was so much easier.
I'm planning on taking lots of pictures while I'm there. I'm just a little nervous about flying Zing. I've talked to the airlines. Zing's not going to be flown with baggage and it will be a/c just like the cabin. It sounds like he's going to have an easier flight than me; he doesn't have to worry about sitting next to sick people. ;)

As for The Hunger Games, I read the first book, but I don't see what all the hype was about, I had no interest in reading the remainder of the series. Game of Thrones though, now that series is totally awesome. Well, until you get to the last book and realize he hasn't written a book in like 10 years. Slacker.
I bought A Game of Thrones. Hopefully it will help me forget that I'm in the air surrounded by people. ;)
I own a Flash / Cherry pup from the last litter/2011 and I just wanted to say, I've flown my (older) dogs many times (to Europe) without any problems - asking nicely if the cabin crew could check on the dog before actually taking off often works and some airlines will give you a little slip (a cutesy card "Zing's on board, too") so there's no worries about him getting left behind (and yes, that did almost happen to me once - the only mishap so far, fingers crossed !)
BTW, love your blog !
Safe travels !
Good travel for you and Zing! :)
enjoy it !!
Best regards.
